Välinge Innovation and Jiangsu BBL Home Technology Co., Ltd. (BBL) are strengthening their partnership as BBL expands its production capacity for Välinge’s Liteback® technology with new machinery.

Growing demand for high-performing resilient flooring
BBL, a well-established flooring manufacturer with extensive industry experience and a strong global customer base, was among the early adopters of Välinge’s Liteback technology. The company is now further increasing its production capacity to meet rising market demand for resilient flooring products with reduced weight, improved acoustic performance and enhanced sustainability.
“Liteback is a game changer for resilient flooring,” says Gordon Lin, Vice President at BBL. “As the market moves towards thicker flooring products, panel weight naturally increases. Liteback allows us to maintain product performance while significantly reducing weight and improving acoustic properties.”
Technology that reduces weight and improves acoustics
Liteback enables resilient flooring to be made thicker without added weight, or lighter while maintaining the same thickness. Material is removed from the back of each panel through customised grooves, reducing both weight and material use. The lower weight simplifies logistics throughout the value chain, making panels easier for installers to handle and improving transport efficiency, which contributes to lower CO₂ emissions. The unique groove structure also helps reduce noise levels within rooms and between floors.
