Whistleblowing
Välinge Innovation AB and its subsidiaries (“Välinge Innovation”) strive to maintain an open and transparent business environment and encourage anyone who has information about serious misconduct relating to our operations to report it.
Below, we describe how you can safely and securely report misconduct and legal violations through our whistleblowing channels. These procedures have been established in accordance with the Swedish Whistleblowing Act (2021:890) on the protection of persons who report misconduct (the “Whistleblowing Act”).
What is whistleblowing?
Whistleblowing means reporting suspected misconduct identified in a work-related context where there is a public interest in disclosing the information or where it constitutes a breach of law and/or regulations, such as:
• Financial crime, such as corruption, fraud or embezzlement
• Risks of harm to the public
• Serious forms of discrimination, harassment or other ethical violations
• Other serious irregularities
Please note that whistleblowing is not intended for personal work-related matters or individual grievances but applies to serious misconduct affecting the public or society at large.
Furthermore, it is important that, at the time of reporting, the whistleblower had reasonable grounds to believe that the information reported was true and that the matter falls within the scope of the Whistleblowing Act, in order for the whistleblower to be afforded the protection provided under the Act.
Who can report?
- Current or former employees of Välinge Innovation
- Other persons who have acquired information in a work-related context, such as job applicants, trainees, external contractors (working under Välinge Innovation’s direction and control), members of the board of directors, and suppliers (including sole traders and other individuals acting in a professional capacity)
- Other persons, such as licensees, customers, and representatives of supplier companies, may also report and are encouraged to do so, but may not be afforded the same level of protection under the Whistleblowing Act as the categories listed above
How to report
Employees and other relevant parties with access to Välinge Innovation’s intranet and Weekli may use the channels below but are primarily referred to the internal Whistleblowing Policy for information on additional internal reporting channels.

External reporting
Under certain conditions, you may also choose to report misconduct to Swedish authorities or EU institutions via their external reporting channels. For information about the relevant Swedish authorities, please refer to the Swedish Work Environment Authority (Arbetsmiljöverket), which acts as the supervisory authority.
All reports, regardless of the reporting channel used, are handled with strict confidentiality. The identity of the whistleblower is protected in accordance with applicable legislation and will not be disclosed without the whistleblower’s consent unless required by law.
To facilitate the investigation, it is important that the report includes a clear description of the matter, relevant dates and any supporting documentation. However, unless necessary, please avoid including sensitive personal data, such as information relating to ethnic origin, political opinions, religious or philosophical beliefs, trade union membership or sexual orientation.
However, we encourage you to report work-related misconduct concerning Välinge Innovation through our internal reporting channels so that we can promptly investigate and address any issues.
Protection under the Whistleblowing Act may also apply, under certain conditions, where information is publicly disclosed.
In addition, the Swedish Freedom of the Press Act and the Fundamental Law on Freedom of Expression provide for the right to disclose information in constitutionally protected media (freedom of expression) and the right to obtain information for such publication.
