Once again, it has been an amazing year like no other for Välinge. With an impressive growth rate and innovative history, Välinge increased its IP portfolio by 14%, added over 50 new licensee partners and launched the new flooring brand ‘Välinge Flooring’ to more markets.
Innovation has always been the core vision at Välinge. By the end of 2021, the patent portfolio grew by 14% and Välinge was granted over 480 new patents distributed across new materials, surface technologies, locking technologies for flooring, as well as wall systems and furniture.
Välinge welcomed over 50 new licensee partners in 2021. The licensee family continues to grow and consists of more than 320 licensees around the world, each benefiting from Välinge´s industry-leading innovations, support and technical services.
The revolutionary 5G® Fold Down technology continues to expand and consist of over 90 licensees. In 2021 Välinge also widely launched 5G® for herringbone flooring pattern, which premiered with great success. Finally, making the beautiful but complex pattern easy to install for everyone. The 5G® portfolio consist of several cutting-edge technologies such as 5G® Dry™ water-resistant fold-down system and 5G® Climb™.
In 2021, the Viken factory manufacturing products based on the Woodura® surface technology experienced an 80% growth. Välinge Flooring, our pioneering in-house produced products, is now available in France, United Kingdom, North America and China offering unique real wood floors that combine Välinge’s innovative technologies — Woodura®, 5G® Dry™ waterproof fold-down system, and 5G® Climb™. In 2021, Välinge Flooring welcomed 22 new distributors, and last but not least, awarded the prestigious 2021 FCNNOVATION Award in the wood flooring category.
