Kneho-Lacke and Välinge Innovation join forces to advance next-generation acoustic flooring solutions

Viken, Sweden

In January 2026, Kneho-Lacke and Välinge Innovation entered into a strategic collaboration to license and further develop Acoustic Coating – a high-performing solution applied directly to the back of flooring panels to improve sound reduction.

The coating is supplied by Kneho-Lacke, a leading specialist in UV coatings, and is available in a wide range of colours. Its formulation can be tailored to specific customer requirements, enabling flooring producers to enhance acoustic performance without compromising design flexibility or production efficiency.

“Kneho-Lacke brings decades of expertise in UV coating technology, and we continuously refine the formulation to deliver a scalable acoustic solution suitable for all types of wood and laminate flooring,” says Bernd Dinkelborg, Head of Sales at Kneho-Lacke.

As part of the collaboration, Välinge makes the Acoustic Coating technology available to flooring manufacturers under license, and Kneho-Lacke supplies the coating through its global network of resellers and partners.

Välinge offers in-house acoustic testing, including impact and In-room walking sound tests, to ensure reliable, measurable performance and support partners throughout product development.

“As innovators, we collaborate closely with our partners, using our expertise to help flooring producers accelerate product development and bring high-performing solutions to market faster,” says Ulf Molén, Director Business Development at Välinge Innovation.

With the Acoustic Coating technology, Kneho-Lacke and Välinge provide a flexible, cost-efficient and production-friendly solution for improved acoustic performance, enabling new possibilities for differentiated, high-value laminate and wood flooring products.
