Välinge Innovation is introducing a new Liteback® slab machine developed in collaboration with Hawk Machinery to support the growing demand for Liteback in resilient flooring production. Välinge’s Liteback technology reduces panel weight, lowers raw material consumption and improves acoustic performance by reducing noise levels both within rooms and between floors.
“As interest in Liteback continues to grow, we are adapting our offering to match the latest production set-ups used in factories worldwide. This new machine solution is designed to integrate easily into both new and existing production lines,” says Niclas Håkansson, CEO at Välinge Innovation.
The equipment has been developed in close cooperation with Välinge’s in-house machinery specialists and engineered to meet the efficiency and reliability demands of modern resilient flooring production. The machine enables efficient grooving of Liteback slabs and supports the application of attached pads to finished flooring panels. With high processing capacity and a robust design, it can be integrated into both new and existing production lines, either in-line or as a stand-alone solution.
“To ensure efficient implementation, we support our partners throughout the entire Liteback integration process, including expertise in dust extraction optimisation and recycling surplus material back into production,” Håkansson adds.
Liteback enables resilient flooring products to be made thicker without added weight, or lighter while maintaining the same thickness. Grooves are milled into the back of the panels, and the removed material is recycled back into the production process. This reduces material consumption by up to 20%, leading to improved handling and transport efficiency while also contributing to lower CO₂ emissions.
The unique groove structure also helps reduce noise levels within rooms and between floors, meeting the growing demand for flooring solutions with improved acoustic performance.
