Välinge Innovation helps to buy ambulances for Ukraine

Viken, Sweden

Välinge Innovation will make substantial donations to the organization, ‘Support for Ukraine’ in Helsingborg, specifically to help purchase ambulances. These will evacuate and transport hurt civilians and soldiers at the front line to the local hospitals in Ukraine.

The unlawful Russian invasion of Ukraine has led to an unprecedented loss of life and suffering for Ukraine, and the relentless bombing of civilian targets – including hospitals – has made it challenging to treat both injured soldiers and civilians.

Jonas Banestig, Senior Key Account Manager for Asia at Välinge Innovation, is personally involved in the project together with his wife, and they have already donated medical supply.

– Russia’s terror and suppression against its peaceful neighbour have once again put Europe in a state of war, says Jonas Banestig. The relentless bombing of civilian targets is simply not something I could accept. My family, together with others, began collecting various medical supplies and have donated these to ‘Support for Ukraine’ for some time. When the possibility arose to purchase ambulances for the frontline, we felt we wanted to offer even more support.

– We’re proud of our colleague, Jonas Banestig, and his family for providing assistance to those in need in Ukraine, says Niclas Håkansson, CEO of Välinge. We therefore felt we wanted to offer our added support.

Välinge, a global company with local values, strongly condemns this attack against Ukraine, and against democracy and the freedom of our world. It’s been a year since the full-scale war was unleashed and Välinge stand with Ukraine and fully support the sanctions implemented by Sweden and EU towards Russia and Belarus as a response to the invasion of Ukraine.

– Today, Ukraine needs the support more than ever. Rough weather conditions, Russia’s offensive on the Eastern front and the continuous bombing of civilian infrastructure result in unprecedented numbers of casualties. In times like this, every contribution made to humanitarian initiatives matters, and even more so, when these contributions come from well-known and respected organisations that can make a real difference and set an example for others. We would like to express our sincere gratitude to Välinge Innovation for helping us purchase two ambulances for the war-torn frontline regions and in this way supporting Ukraine’s fight against the Russian aggression.”, says Lena Ryabicheva, ‘Support for Ukraine’.
