Välinge’s Ceraloc technology behind innovative tile installation solution from VitrA Tiles

Viken, Sweden

Välinge Innovation is pleased to announce that Ceraloc®, its innovative technology for adhesive-free floating installation of ceramic flooring, is being introduced to the market in a new tile application technology from VitrA Tiles, one of Europe’s largest ceramic tile manufacturers.

VitrA Tiles presented V-Flex, its new tile installation solution featuring Ceraloc, at Cersaie 2026 in Bologna, Italy, the world’s leading exhibition for ceramic tiles and architectural surfaces. With V-Flex, the company can offer a faster, easier and more flexible way to install ceramic floors.

“This innovation opens the door to a new way of installing ceramic flooring,” says Ulf Molén, Director Business Development at Välinge Innovation. “After several years of development, we have found a solution that overcomes the challenges seen in earlier systems, creating a simpler, stronger and more reliable installation method.”

With roots in Turkey dating back to 1942, VitrA Tiles is part of the Eczacıbaşı Group and today sells its products in approximately 90 markets worldwide. The company produces around 31 million m² of ceramic tiles annually.

“V-Flex brings together Välinge’s Ceraloc locking technology and VitrA Tiles’ design and manufacturing expertise to create a solution that responds to evolving expectations. V-Flex enables faster, easier and more precise installation, since the tiles can be installed without being permanently bonded to the subfloor. Its locking system supports more regular grout lines and more consistent results. Individual tiles can also be removed and replaced when needed. Testing has also shown that V-Flex contributes to lower walking sound levels and improved impact sound performance,” says Işıl Nergiz Günay, Chief Marketing Officer at VitrA Tiles.

“Through this partnership, we are bringing a new level of innovation, convenience and performance to the ceramic tile market. More importantly, V-Flex reflects our commitment to developing solutions that anticipate changing customer needs and help shape the future of the industry,” adds Günay.

A new way to install ceramic flooring

Traditional ceramic flooring installation typically requires adhesive, curing time and skilled installation. With Ceraloc, each ceramic tile is factory bonded to a carrier with an integrated locking profile. The tiles are simply slid into place and pressed down to lock. The locking system precisely positions each tile, creating straight, consistent grout lines and strong, reliable locking.

Ceraloc also offers greater installation flexibility, allowing tiles to be installed on the subfloor without adhesive. The mechanical locking system secures the tiles in place immediately, eliminating the waiting time associated with adhesive curing. Grouting can therefore begin straight after installation, and the floor is ready for foot traffic after just two hours. Tiles can even be installed over an existing floor and easily dismantled later without damaging the floor underneath, leaving it intact and ready to use again.

“With VitrA’s decades of experience and strong international presence, we are proud to bring this innovation to the market together,” continues Molén. “We are convinced that Ceraloc will create new business opportunities for the ceramic tile market.”
