Bjelin Sweden AB has announced plans to join the click furniture revolution by utilising Välinge Innovation’s Threespine® technology in a range of furniture in solid oak.

Bjelin Sweden AB has announced plans to join the click furniture revolution by utilising Välinge Innovation’s Threespine® technology in a range of furniture in solid oak.

“We are investing to become one of Europe’s largest manufacturers of click furniture,” says Darko Pervan, founder and CEO of Pervanovo Invest AB, Bjelin’s owners. “Our plan is to reach a turnover of billions in the coming years.”

Threespine® click furniture technology is a game-changer for the industry — taking the hardware and heartache out of furniture assembly and enabling a total rethink in how furniture is produced, transported, stored, and sold. The unique, patented Threespine click joint allows furniture to be assembled tool-and-fittings-free and up to 8–10 times faster than furniture with traditional fittings. The technology has been embraced by global retail giants including Home Depot, Marks and Spencer, Amazon, and Nitori in Japan.

“It’s a really exciting time for Threespine. Bjelin is a company we have a great relationship with,” says Hans Brännström, Director of Furniture Business Unit, Välinge Innovation. “We’re going to work closely together to create a furniture range that not only showcases the beyond easy assembly of Threespine but also shows people the design and sustainability possibilities that a close collaboration with Välinge offers.”

Bjelin is no stranger to Välinge’s technology, enjoying huge success with its sustainable hardened wood floor collection — which is manufactured using the patented Woodura® technology at Välinge’s headquarters in Viken, Sweden. The wood for the furniture will be sourced from the recently acquired Spacva d.d. in Croatia — one of Europe’s largest manufacturers of oak veneers.

“The success of our hardened wooden floors shows the demand for sustainable furnishing in wood,” says Johan Larsson, CEO, Bjelin. “We believe in the same positive development for the new click furniture as we have experienced with our click flooring.”
